Ramblings About the Baby

It is almost time for that precious grandchild to arrive. He should be here in abour 4-6 weeks. LSH goes for another sonogram, then Dr. visit tomorrow. The baby is measuring 3 weeks bigger that the due date. We eill find out then a better time frame. I know they come when God is ready for them to come, but she,nor her Dr. wants her to have a 9-10 lb. baby boy!

We had a lovely shower given by a friend of the father's mother a couple of weeks ago. It was nice to meet all the friends and family we had not met. Hubby went with the guy part of the family and had lunch and then came to help pack up. THere is another shower this weekend! LSH is so excited. This time it will be at my dear friend's house given by 3 special people. It should be a lot of fun! I am so excited, my niece is bringing my mother for the party! They will only be here for the day, but it will be great for Mother to meet B's family. ANd I haven't seen my niece in months!

We have a name......Trent Harrison......I love it! It is going to be so much fun keeping him, taking care of him, I know it will be hard, but I know it will be worth it. It's upside down....I know, how do I fix it???? I rotated it before I posted it???

Any grandmas out there with advice? I think that Mimi is my chosen name.....hopefully Trent will go with ist! Still looking for a granpa name for hubby....he is too youg for grandpa, we already have a Papaw and a Pepaw, no Pa.....I'm thinking Pops???????Any ideas?

By the way.....I made that Diaper cake! It was so fun and easy. I used swaddler diapers, rubber bands, a platter purchased from GW that LSH can use later, scrapbooking stickers, ribbon, shower decorations from WM & DT, socks and a monkey (we both have a monkey thing going on). I loved doing them and have thought about a business? I also worked on a wreath for her door at the hospital and at home. What do you think?

Yard

It has been so hot and dry, I can't even remember the last drops we have gotten! Our flower and grass are really suffering. Here are a few pictures from our yard when things were better and LEH's sunflowers! They were so beautiful!

Grandma.....Maybe Gigi

As I said in an earlier post that my oldest is having a grandbaby in October. She is progressing nicely. It is going to be a boy! What will I do with a boy? I will have to remember way back when I used to babysit! God never gives you more than you can handle. I am so proud of her and how she has handled her life. She graduated from Aggieland, she has a great guy, great job, just got a promotion and loves her job.

I have made a little lovie square and am going to make another with tags on it. I am working on a quilt and a diaper bag. I have so many projects I want to make. I only have about 2 months and I don't want any of this to take away from LEH going off to college.

I am working on a college knit dress for her, but having a hard time starting. I need some advise or help!

Furniture Re-Dos

Wimberly Chair Find & GW Stool

Can someone tell me how to turn my pictures around after I have downloaded or do I have to do that first?

More Pictures

Yes another GW find, $4, but it was missing screws, had ugly dirty fabric and get this, someone used duck tape to put the top layer on. Again I forgot to take a picture before LEH put Kilz on it!

My $5 stool to go with my secretary in my bedroom. I forgot to take a picture before I put the Kilz on it, but it was dark brown and not in very good shape, with ugly fabric.

These are pieces of my grandmother's bedroom set. I am going to have to find the after pictures and post them later. I sanded them and painted them black for my daughter's apartment. I also painted the chest of drawers and mirror, then put in new knobs on it. I still have a chiferrobe(?), piece to do to finish the set.

LEH Graduation Day- June 2010....Heading off to Aggieland! I was a beautiful day and my mother, sister,nephew,sister-in-law and our next door neighbors came.
Empty nest soon!!!!!! Oh no! How will it work???????? We had a bunch of friends and family come to an after party, such fun!

It's Been A While!

Hello! I have been away for a while, 9 months, as long as it takes to have a baby. Good news I am going to be a Grandmother this October! I am so excited!I have been away due to work , then school was out and I was getting children moved to new places, re-doing furniture, sewing baby quilt, diaper bag......

Life hasn't been easy, is it ever? But I do know that God has been carrying me all the way and that everything will be great.

I have lots of pictures to share.....

Wine Bottle Lamps

Friends are so special in so many ways. God has put several Christian, kind, supportive, imperfect women in my life, I don't know what I would do with out.
I have been helping one of them trying to start up a new business. These adorable, beautiful, fun "Lights In A Bottle". Have you ever noticed how beautiful alot of wine labels are. They are truly art work! I am going to post pictures later. I only have them on my phone and don't know how to get them on my computer, I am sure there is a way......I am just not that computer literate. For now I will just put her web site here: "http://www.linghtsinabottle.org/">http://www.linghtsinabottle.org/ . I know you will love them! She embelishes the shades and will do cutom bottles for weddings (find out ahead of time what wine they will be servcing), anniversaries, birthdays, Bunco gifts, Pokeno gifts.....so many possibilities!
I would like to think that my friend would support me the way I support her.She is a very talented, artistic, person, who sees the beauty in everything. I know that my gifts God has given me are serving and hospitality. I know too, that not everyone has those gifts. Sometimes I feel like I give to much to others and don't give my family or myself the right kind of giving. Do you ever feel this way. I am a follower of Insipred Into Action and she is starting a Month of Giving. I am excited about this......I have been looking for a way to give back to my friends and our community. How do you give back?

Hubby's Quilt

As you can see this is a quilt in progress. I just have to quilt and bind it. It went pretty fast, but I have been distrascted and haven't sewn in about 6 weeks! I need to finish it and work on some of my other projects. Just thought I would give you a peek at what I am "working" on!

Komen Race for the Cure

LSH came in this weekend to walk the Race for the Cure with the family and to celebrate her birthday. I love it when the whole family is under one roof!

I raised $690 so far for The Komen Foundation.I wish it could have been more, but is more than in the past! I am going to start earlier next year. I thank all of my family and friends that contributed! It is near and dear to my heart....I am a 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor and LSH interned for them last year.

My wonderful nephew joned us in the walk. I was touched, he is a first year law student and doesn't have much extra time. He is so thoughtful! Our family enjoyed spending a little time with him.
There were over 30,000 people there, it was sooooo......crowded! It took 2 hours to walk it because of all of the people and narrow pathways. But think of all the money raised for a great cause. I appreciate my husbands company for supporting it and paying oue entry fees and raising a lot of money for Komen (not sure of the total).
God has been so good to our family, brought us through so many hard times." With God's strength we can do anything", sometimes I need to remember to tap into that strength!
Blessings to you all-
Ellen
